Indian powders are often hailed as the secret behind Indian women's long, beautiful, and healthy hair. I used to regularly use henna, which helped strengthen and coat my strands. However, once I transitioned to locs, that routine naturally fell by the wayside. Seeing the amazing results on some natural hair bloggers made me curious to try this 'miracle product' myself to boost my hair's strength and vitality.
I used 3 different Indian powders:
- Amla powder
- Brahmi powder
- Shikakai powder
These 3 Indian powders are perfect for stimulating hair growth and strengthening hair. Shikakai powder targets the scalp; it is ideal for people who have problems with itching and dandruff.
In addition to the powders, I added my favorite oil, coconut oil, and carrot oil, which I'm trying for the very first time, so that my mixture isn't too pasty and doesn't dry out my hair too much.
Small tips: The mixture is very messy, protect your clothes! And don't put your nose in the Indian powder packet, it's very irritating! If you have a mask, don't hesitate to use it!
In the video below, I show you how I prepare and apply the mixture to my hair, and share the result with you!
If you have already tried Indian powders, feel free to tell me what you thought of them!
